 The roles: 

We have selected the job opportunities Troubleshooting Technician, Installation Manager and Technical Specialist for this pilot. These roles require an Electrical Engineering or a Mechanical Engineering background since our installations are often a combination of both technical fields. Most installations are serviced by two team members, one specialized in Electrical Engineering and one specialized in Mechanical Engineering. A brief description of the roles is given below. Troubleshooting Technician

As troubleshooting technician, it is your responsibility to solve all electrical disturbances in a safe and adequate manner so that production progress is not jeopardised. As a troubleshooting technician, you are the first to arrive on site and analyse the disruption. Besides solving malfunctions, you are also responsible for producing malfunction reports. You also have a role in identifying and carrying out preventive maintenance. You work in a 5-shift operation and have a lot of contact with your daytime colleagues. Together, you are responsible for the maintenance and periodic inspections of the installations. You can handle pressure well and switch quickly, because you will use your expertise to get the installation running again as soon as possible.

Installation Manager

In the role as an Installation Manager, your focus is on organizing preventive maintenance and solving malfunctions. About 40% of the work consists of inspections on the installation, coordinating the activities of the outside companies and inspecting these activities. The other 60% of your work will be office-based where you work out the maintenance jobs and provide input to further improve these maintenance plans.The efforts above combined ensures a stable and reliable installation, up and running 24/7 for the production of 7 million tons of steel annually.

Technical Specialist

In the role as a Technical Specialist you work closely together with the Installation Manager, but you operate on a slightly different level. You will be the one to identify, analyze and solve long-term and recurring issues. Based on your technical expertise, you coordinate the improvement projects for the installation. Your work ensures continuous improvement of the installation, keeping it up and running 24/7 for the production of 7 million tons of steel annually.

 Practical information

We offer

  • An initial contract for the duration of 6 months separated in two parts;
  •  3 months language course to reach B1 level (while receiving a salary of €2879 gross per month)
  • 3 month traineeship in one of our factories (while receiving a salary varying between €3033 and €7175, depending on experience and educational level)
  • one-year contract after the first 6 months with the intent of an indefinite contract afterwards
  • Employment as Troubeshooting Technician, Installation Manager or Technical Specialist (depending on your educational level and experience)

Requirements

  • Living in The Netherlands
  • Technical degree in either Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, must be valued on Dutch mbo-4 or Bachelor’s degree level
  • Valid work permit for The Netherlands (no sponsorship can be provided)
